Figure 12: Scapular deposit in a 56-year-old patient s/p total thyroidectomy and central compartmental neck dissection. Patient is a proven case of papillary thyroid carcinoma with lymph nodal metastases. WBI scan revealed minimal residual thyroid tissue with left lower cervical nodal metastases and 131I concentrating right scapular deposit. Stimulated Tg was 659 ng/ml. PET/CT showed FDG avid left thyroid bed lesion, highest mediastinal nodal and right scapular metastatic deposit. Note: Patient shows same number of positive lesions in both Whole body I 131 and FDG PETCT scan suggesting varying grades of cellular differentiation in the same patient
